Host Card Emulation enables a mobile to be used as a contactless card and is driven by software residing on the device side.
There are three modes: Card Emulation ( CE), Reader/Writer and Peer-to-peer. In Card emulation mode only emulated card applications running Secure Element such as SIM, eSE… can communicate with an external NFC reader. This gives the device security and flexibility when a Secure Element is not required.
This enables HCE able to be implemented today on Trustonic TEE enabled devices. It enables the users credentials to be securely sent to a Trusted App. The credentials are stored with TEE secured mass storage and the credential can be securely transmitted to the NFC reader via a secure channel.
