As a result of this partnership, Samsung smartphones and tablets will now deliver a secure, trusted platform upon which service providers can innovate to deliver an enriched, simplified and consistent user experience.
At the heart of this partnership is Samsung KNOX, Samsung’s end-to-end secure enterprise mobility solution designed to provide advanced data and privacy protection for both enterprises and consumers. The Trustonic TEE adds a hardware-isolated foundation to KNOX in order to secure the platform and the services running within it. The KNOX App Developer Eco-system will now be able to utilize best-in-class hardware-backed security features made accessible through the Trustonic ‹t™-base TEE.

Hardware-based security has traditionally been isolated, limited, and locked down at the point of manufacture to a single use case or industry stakeholder. This partnership unlocks a new set of secure service availability for developers and is designed to protect applications and data from software based attacks. Services can be protected from the cloud to the device, including user interactions with touchscreens, displays and fingerprint sensors.
The partnership will also bring important new capabilities to devices for the first time, including a Trusted User Interface, which simplifies user authentication by enabling simpler passwords, protects against attempts at click-jacking, and increases end user confidence that transaction approvals are genuine. Furthermore, Trustonic ‹t™-base TEE allows additional secure functions to be added when needed, allowing application developers to access advanced security capabilities without the need to embed components prior to manufacture of the device.
